Ferdousi Islam completed BA (Honors) from University of Dhaka and MA in Fine Arts from University of Development Alternatives. Oil painting and printmaking were her major in the field of study. Women and Nature was the topic of her thesis and research. She worked on this subject matter in the form of etching, woodcut, silkscreen, and participated in a group exhibition in 2003 with her art work. Ferdousi participated in several group art exhibitions in Bangladesh and Canada. Her recent participation was in an international group Art Exhibition “Exploration of Child Labor” in 2019 organized by Ryerson University, Toronto.
Ferdousi operates a Children Art School named “Impression” with her passion in arts to teach painting, sketching, and drawing to the children to develop their abstract thinking with colors and brushes. She also works as a painting/art instructor with various community-based development organizations in Toronto.
Ferdousi likes to travel and explore natural landscapes and cultures.
